William Thomas was the oldest of four children born to George W. and Burnetta (Vandeveer) Colvin. He married Grace Mae Castle in 1895. There were the parents of nine children, Lillie Birdie, George Chancy, Vern Morris, Marvin Franklin, Wilmer Melvin, Myrtle Mae, Harold E., Evelyn Bernetta and Willie Ford.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Forest Grove Undertaking Chapel for William Thomas Colvin by Elder V. C. Becraft of Laurelwood Academy. Interment took place in Mountain View Cemetery.
W. T. Colvin was born Waverly County, Iowa, August 11, 1858. He married Grace M. Castle, and with their family had made their home in Forest Grove for the last three years. Mr. Colvin appeared to be recovering from a stroke suffered the previous week, but began to sink Wednesday afternoon, dying about 5 p.m. He is survived by his wife and nine children: Mrs. Samuel Weimer, Renton, Wash.; George Colvin, Milton; Mrs. Austin Knapp, Vern M., Marvin F., Wilmer M., Harold E., Vernetta, William, all of Forest Grove. There are three sisters; Mrs. Arno Hahn, Boulder, Mont., Mrs. Eva Cunningham, Charlston, W. Va., and Mrs. Dora Snideman, Denver, Colo., and two brothers: Charles of California and Harry of Cripple Creek, Colo.
