Brother of Marcia, Eliza Sabina, Anne Maria, Mary Hale-Tallcott, and Elizabeth Hale-Tallcott. He married Anna Talcott 31 Mar 1831 in Glastonbury, Conn. Their 13 children include John, Francis, Charles F. (1847) and Henry D. Hale.
He was a farmer, and member of the Congregational Church.
Oliver Hale moved from Glastonbury, Connecticut to Otho Township Webster County, Iowa in 1866. With him came four sons and one daughter. He purchased a farm near Otho in 1867, and died at the age of sixty-two.
