"Bruce Lee Beyerlin, 82, of Harbor, died Feb. 9, 2008, at his home.
He was born Dec. 20, 1925, in Goshen, to Buel William and Bessie Inez Winters Beyerlin.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged as a corporal, having served in the Pacific including Guam, the Marianna Islands, Iwo Jima and during the Occupation of China.
On Sept. 5, 1956, he married Kitty Oaks in Pullman, Wash.
He had worked as a commercial truck driver for 35 years, and moved to Curry County in the mid-1980s.
Survivors include sons Michael Beyerlin of Veneta, and Steven Beyerlin of Gold Beach.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Kitty, and a daughter, Patty, of Eugene.
Family services and interment were at the Roseburg Veterans Cemetery.
Cremation was under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel."
