Born Sept. 11, 1913, in Lafayette, he was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. He was married July 20, 1939, to Thelma "Tommy" Nicholas, who survives.
Knoth was the former owner and operator of Furs By Francis, and retired in 1972. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of American Legion Post 11. He was also a member and past grand knight of Lafayette Knights of Columbus. A member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, he attended St. Boniface School and Mt. Health Seminary in Cincinnati.
Also surviving are seven sons, including Robert Knoth of Flora; two daughters; a brother; a sister, 32 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday in Lafayette with burial in St. Boniface Cemetery.
