Leslie Glen Barkdull, 57, of Fairview, son of Samuel Michal Barkdull and Mary Ann Littlewood, died November 24 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah following an extended illness of six months.
Mr Barkdull was born December 20, 1895 in Hatton, Millard County Utah and in recent years has been a resident of Fairview.
Survivors include two brothers, William Barkdull of Inkom Idaho, and Albert Barkdull of Fairview, and one sister, Mary Alice Whitewood of Springville, Utah.
The funeral will be held in the Fairview Chapel Saturday November 28 at 1 p.m. with arrangements being made by the Schwab Mortuary. Interment will be in the Fairview cemetery.
The Fairview Ward LDS Chapel was the scene of the Leslie Glen Barkdull funeral held Saturday, November 28, at 12 noon with Bishop C. Stuart Brown officiating. Marvin Rich presented the prayer at the home.
Prelude music was played by Gladys Shumway and the invocation was offered by Esse Harmon. A vocal solo, "In the Garden" was sung by Gaye Erickson.
Featured speakers at the funeral were A.R. Kennington, R.J. Crook, Budd Pead and Bp. C. Stuart Brown. Musical numbers were presented by a quartet of Darrel Hoopes, Jenny Allred, Loa Allred and ValDee Allred.
The benediction was given by Duard H. Erickson followed by postlude music by Gladys Shumway, Robert Pead dedicated the grave.
Members of the American Legion acted as pallbearers with the Fairview Ward Relief Society in charge of the flowers. The Schwab mortuary in Afton made the funeral arrangements.
