DEATH OF GEORGETOWN MAN
Ambrose Black, 71, native and lifelong resident of Georgetown, died at 10:10 p m. Sunday in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.
He was born at Georgetown, December 19, 1888, the son of
William C. and Mary Bacon Black.
In his earlier years he engaged in farming and in 1954
he retired as a painter for B&B department, Union Pacific
Railroad. He was a member of the L. D. S. Church.
Mr. and Alice Tippetts were married December 9, 1909 at
Paris. There children preceded him in death. Besides his
widow, he is survived by six children, Mrs. Guy (Iola)
Caldwell of Nampa, June A. Black of Salt Lake City, Shirley
W. Black of Georgetown, Harry W. Black of Reedsport, Oregon, Berdean K. Black of Pegram and Mrs. Victor R.
(Barbara) Hymas of Montpelier.
Also Surviving are 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Effie Swensen of Idaho
Falls.
Funeral rites were in the Georgetown chapel at 2 p. m.
Wednesday, with the opening song "Jesus Lover of My Soul"
by the choir, invocation Roy H. Robinson, remarks Bishop Donald S. Rex, speaker, Walter E. Clark, song "God of
Our Fathers," choir speaker Rao B. Dunford, song, benediction, Don C. Clark.
The graveside was dedicated by Melvin J. Clark, and
grandsons acting as pallbearers, were Gary, Harold, Sherwin,
Carl, Kent Black and Jack Hunter.
The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
