He was mostly a farmhand...loved his horses and took the 1900 census of Napa County in the area he lived in...He married Stella Mae Tomlinson in 1907.

His parents and he and his siblings all had red hair..his mother and the children all came to California by train after his father died from the effects of the Civil War in 1875..

He died leaving 6 children under the age of 13...of which, five were put in foster homes...but, the children remained close, even if they did not live close to one another...
