Surviving are four children: Jerri Lynn Kelly and husband, Bill, of Bryan, Texas, Sherry Jo Walters and husband, Keith, of Waynesboro, Tim A. and wife, Kristy, of Altoona, currently stationed at Fort Eustis, Va., and Wendy Heir and husband, Chris, of Selinsgrove; grandchildren: Malachi, Phillip, Madison, Ty, JoHannah, Brock, Matthius, Conner, JuliAnne and another one on the way; brothers and sisters: Gary of Cumberland, Md., Dennis of Akron, Ohio, David of Sharon, S.C., and Debra Fagans of Duncansville; and his former wife, Mary Ann (Brumbaugh) Michaels. He was preceded in death by brother, Lester J. Guyer III.
Jerry graduated from Hollidaysburg High School. He was in the Army from 1959-63, where he was ranked as private in the infantry. He retired from Veeder Root, previously worked for Penn Alto Mobile Home Sales and was a former manager of W.T. Grant Co., Bradford Rooms and Howard Johnson. He was a member of the Cresson Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards and being with his grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home Inc., 1218 Fourth Ave., Duncansville (www.liebegottbrown.com). A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at the funeral home with Pastor John D. Leatherman officiating. Interment with military honors at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
