Martin Durkin was the second of three known children born to Anna Lydia McDowell and Martin James Durkin. He was a graduate of Schulte High School, after which he honorably served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years.

Martin T. Durkin, 75, of Barnegat, passed Tuesday, March 11, 2014. He was born in Terre Haute, IN to his late parents, Martin and Ann Durkin. Having served 12 years as a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, Martin traveled around the world and settled in Allendale before moving to Barnegat 12 years ago.

Predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Olivia, he is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Rose Marie (Pannella): four children, Tracy Durkin, Kyle and Wife Carolann Durkin, Martin Durkin, Shayle and wife Angela Durkin; twelve grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a brother Donald and wife Anne Durkin.

Viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 14 at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat. Mass offered 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15 at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat.
