AN ASIDE: In 1947, my Dad bought a home next to Beatty's Market. As a kid, I spent many an hour "hanging around" the store and receiving good advice from Chuck. After I joined the Air Force, I would always make it a point to stop in the store and say hello when I returned home on leave.
