MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Howard A. York, 81, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at City Hospital. Born Jan. 27, 1923, in Earlville, N.Y., he was the son of the late Fritz and Ethel Sisson York. He was a member of Wesleyan Bible Chapel. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was active with the Berkeley Senior Center. He is survived by one daughter, Sharon L. Rogers of Marcy, N.Y.; one sister, Thelma Marty of Jordan, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and his close friend of 12 years, Judy Knick. A memorial service will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Clifford Taylor will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Berkeley Senior Center, Special Tribute Fund, 217 N. High St., Martinsburg, WV 25401.
