Lawrence B. Gould, 79, of 14 Auburn Rd. Seneca Falls, died on Sunday April 19, 1998in Auburn Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Gould was born May 14, 1918 in Walton, the son of Logan J. and Minnie Mae Beecher Gould. He was a 1938 graduate of Walton High School. and graduated from Syracuse University in 1942 with a bachelor of science degree in engineering.
He served as a Lt. Commander in the Navy during Word War II, He was employed as an electrical engineer for the Beacon Milling Company in Cayuga. He was a member of the Union Springs Central School Board for eighteen years, serving as president for 5 years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Walton; the Shriners of Rochester; Elks Club of Seneca Falls; Donald R. Ward Post 1259 American Legion Cayuga; National Defense Executive Reserve U. S. Department of Commerce, Washington D.C.. He was an Eagle Scout and served as a Scoutmaster of Troop 54 in Cayuga.
He was an active member of the Cayuga United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Barry Gould of Cooperstown, David Gould of Union Springs; one grandson, Jason Gould; and one sister Helen Chase of Pennsylvania.
He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia Gould in 1989.
