Theodore "Ted" Glenn Kohinke, 67, of Evington, Va., died Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Born March 13, 1948, in Cooperstown, N.Y., Ted was a son of Marion Kohinke of Albany, N.Y. and the late Rev. Theodore Kohinke.

Ted is survived by his wife of 19 years, Patsye Kohinke of Evington; his children, Brian (Kelly) Kohinke of Binghamton, N.Y., TJ Kohinke of Lynchburg, Kerian (Buzz) King of Rustburg, and Rick (Ashley) Woody of Elkhart, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Kohinke, of Forest; grandchildren, Elizabeth King, Niobe Woody, Ashley Kohinke, Mary King, Hannah Kohinke, Kyle Kohinke, Jack King, Anberlin Woody, and Arlandria Woody; mother, Marion Kohinke of Albany, N.Y.; brothers, Ed (Anne) Kohinke of Salem, and Steve Kohinke of Albany, N.Y.; sisters, Dorothy (Andy) Pierce of Whitney Point, N.Y., Kathy (Andy) Ellenberger of Burlington, Vt., and Marilyn (Dave) Washburn of Westerville, Ohio, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his father, Ted was preceded in death by his first wife, Diane Stepp Kohinke; sisters, Debbie Taylor and Carol Kohinke; and a brother Clayton Kohinke.

After Ted's retirement from Westover Dairy, his greatest enjoyment was sitting on the front porch enjoying nature and listening to the trains go by. He was an avid reader and loved to write short stories. He had a special love for music. He could play many instruments, but especially loved to play the piano. His beloved John Deere tractors, gardening, and his hummingbirds brought him great joy. We will never forget his love for the New York Yankees.

Special thanks to all our family and friends that supported the family and Ted in the last six weeks of his life; to the oncology 4th floor nurses and staff; and for the very special care, love, and compassion shown from Dr. John MacNeill.
