Shirley F. Allhusen, 79, of Cayuga, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Auburn Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Newburgh on July 7, 1926, the daughter of Luther and Gertrude Pressler Filkins, she lived in Cayuga for the last 52 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was employed in food service for 28 years at Cayuga Elementary School. She was a member of the Auburn Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, and she enjoyed gardening, swimming, crafts and singing in the church choir. She is survived by her loving husband, George; three daughters, Sharon (Henry) Cummings of Corfu, Donna (Paul) Tavener of Tahlequah, Okla., and Chris (Rick) Chalupnicki of Auburn; and one son, Gary (Ginny) Allhusen of Huntington Beach, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan Casper; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Audrey Doyle.
