Martin L. D'Agostino, 63, of 1 Rockingham Road, Auburn, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2008. Martin was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Anthony and Nina A. D'Agostino, and resided in the Auburn area most of his adult life. Marty was a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music and Texas Christian University, where he studied classical piano. Martin served a two-year tour of duty in the Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam era. With his father's passing, he returned home to take over the family dairy farm. Later he became owner of his own piano store, Martin"s Pianos in North Syracuse, where he had been open for the past 18 years. Marty was a devoted husband and father. His commitment and love for his children was evident to everyone who knew him. He was tremendously proud of David, an attorney in New York City, and Leah who will graduate from the University of Buffalo Medical School next year. He always encouraged them to read for their dreams. He was with them in their struggles and triumphs. Marty was tremendously generous to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his many students and colleagues. Marty is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patricia; his daughter, Leah and her fiance, Ajay Yesupriya; and son, David; a brother, Michael, of Moravia; and sister, Gena De Anguerra, of Scipio Center; nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you to our closest friends, Joe and Gail Sullivan, who were always with us in our happiest and most challenging times. Marty accepted everyone for who they were without judgment. He was a kind man.
