Cheri, a 24 year Ramona resident, passed away peacefully on Sept. 18, 2009 at San Diego Hospice after a courageous 3 year battle with Breast Cancer. We are truly blessed to have had her in our lives for the 44 years that God gave her, and her strength and courage will always be with us. We are comforted by the knowledge that she is at peace with the Lord. Cheri received a CNA certificate and worked as a CNA for 2 years in Santee and Yuma, AZ. After returning to Ramona, she started working at K-Mart when it first opened in Ramona. She remained there for 10 years, eventually becoming the manager of the food pantry department. Later she worked for CTE collecting concrete samples at construction sites throughout San Diego County. She loved nature and the outdoors and the freedom of riding motorcycles. She loved doing intricate beadwork and designed and created her own jewelry. Above all, she felt her greatest accomplishment in life was the birth of her two children. She loved both of them dearly and was very proud of them. She was a devoted mother, loving daughter, sister and aunt, and a faithful friend. Her joyous spirit and beautiful smile will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two children, Megan, 14, and Jonathan, 8; parents, Rick and Myrna Craig; sister, Deborah Stanford; brother, Charles Craig and wife Renee; 5 nieces and 3 nephews.
