Beryl Mayfield, 94, of Ellettsville passed away at Bloomington Hospital on Monday, May 31, 2010.
He was born on August 25, 1915 in Williams, Indiana to Dennis Mayfield and Della Mae (Sheets) Mayfield. Beryl worked as a butcher most of his life in markets around the area including Thrashers Market in Ellettsville from which he retired.
Beryl was a pleasant man, always kidding with people and telling jokes and laughing. He loved to fish. He thought the world of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille (Holsapple) Mayfield; son, Larry Dale Mayfield and siblings, Forrest G. Mayfield, Bernice Mayfield, Lorene (Mayfield) Holsapple and Fern (Fitzgerald) Mayfield.
Survivors include his son, Jerry Mayfield;several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call upon the family at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of services.
