Walter lived a full and varied life. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Spokane. He was a district manager at AT&T until his retirement in 1985, and lead an international project to install telephone service in Iran and Egypt in the 1970's and 80's. Walter was an avid Cubs fan and served as a warm up catcher for the Cleveland Indians. In his retirement, he was a Master Gardener, planting over 5,000 plants annually on his hands and knees, creating his own beautiful park. His latest accomplishments were perfecting his "Creme De La Creme" cheesecake, and growing a green pepper that weighed almost a pound, "larger than his whole hand". He was also a vinter, and a gourmet cook. Walter will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted family and friends. In Bud's own words "You couldn't have met a nicer guy". He was laid to rest on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Cedar Park Cemetery, Riverdale, IL. www.kishfuneralhome.net
