Rev. Paul M. Cullen, Order of the Servants of Mary Servite Priest, a solemn professed friar and priest of the Order of Friar Servants of Mary (Servites)-United States of America Province, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at Annunciata Priory, Chicago, IL. He was 72 years of age and a priest for 46 years.

He was born Aug. 9, 1939 in Stewartstown, County Tyrone, Ireland, the son of the late Patrick and Isabelle, nee Hampsey, Cullen. He was baptized at St. Mary's Parish, Stewartstown; he is the brother of the late Annabella (Tom) Lowe, Maureen (late Patrick) Corr, Brigid (John) McAleer, Malachy (Margaret) and Martina (Patrick) Scullion; and many nieces and nephews.

Fr. Cullen entered the Servite Order on Aug. 23, 1957 at Our Lady of Benburb Priory, Benburb, Co. Tyrone, Ireland and was ordained a priest on Feb. 13, 1965 at St. Mary's Church, Brussels, Belgium. Fr. Cullen served as Associate Pastor and Pastor, St. Domitilla Parish, Hillside, IL; Pastor, Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica, Chicago, IL; Pastor, Assumption Parish (Illinois St.), Chicago, IL and for the last 10 years, Pastor at Annunciata Parish, Chicago.

Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 from 2 to 9 p.m., at Annunciata Parish, 11128 S. Ave. "G", Chicago, IL (Phone #773-221-1040) and the

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at 10 a.m., also at Annunciata Parish.

Interment will be in the Servite Section of Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Order of Friar Servants of Mary or Annunciata Catholic School, would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Elmwood Chapel Chicago, IL. 773-731-2749. www.elmwoodchapel.com.
