Courtney Sherie Gass and Anika Adahlia Allgood

Courtney Sherie Gass, 26, and her daughter, Anika Adahlia Allgood, 2, both formerly of Texas City, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas. Courtney was born January 20, 1983 in Galveston County. She was a sweet, loving, spirited, artistic soul. Courtney is survived by her mother Judy Bradley; father Dale Gass and wife Kristi; daughter Wendy Dreama-Sherie; brother Cody Gass and wife Fallon; grandparents A. J. and Betty Bolton; uncle Wade Bolton; aunt Dawn Bolton; aunt and uncle, Bobby and Raylyn Gass; aunt Tammy Gass; cousin Macy Bolton; nieces and nephew, Austin and Aubrey Gass; step-sister, Hailey Doxey; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

Anika was born December 29, 2006 in Texas City. She is survived by her grandparents, Judy Bradley, Dale and Kristi Gass, and Marcus and Amy Allgood; uncle Alex Allgood, great-grandparents Bonnie Allgood, Robert and Carol Radler, A. J. and Betty Bolton, and great-grandmother, Lotus Marx; great-uncle and –aunt Malcolm and Danielle Allgood; great-aunt Kristy Stewart; great-uncle and –aunt Larry and Virginia Stewart; great-uncle Rodney Stewart; numerous cousins and other relatives.


TEXAS CITY — Friends and family will gather to remember a young mother and her 2-year-old daughter who were shot to death in San Antonio, July 5, 2009.

Courtney Gass and her daughter, Anika, were found dead in their San Antonio apartment.

Gass grew up in Texas City and moved to San Antonio last year to begin a new life with Anika's father, Chris Allgood.

Kevin Bones, a friend of Courtney's, who was visiting from Texas City, was also killed.

On the night of the shootings, investigators said they found Allgood, also a Texas City native, outside of the apartment with an assault rifle in his hand.

Allgood has been charged with Courtney's murder, but he has not charged in connection with the death of Anika and Bones.
