There are no documents that prove her death. She does not appear in 1860 census, but does appear in 1850 census.
An attempt was made to find this headstone and it was not successful. The photographer walked the entire cemetery and found no markers for this name.

Contributor Wanda Hastings suggested she may have been buried in Old Flowery Branch Cemetery, a historic cemetery in Flowery Branch that no longer has any markers. Seeking sources.

Joel married Elizabeth Norman in 1785 in Greenville, SC. They had 12 children while living in Greenville.

The family moved to what is now known as Flowery Branch, Hall County, GA shortly before 1818. They were one of the pioneering families of Hall County and remained their until their deaths.
