James E. Beaman, 90, Martinsville, passed away at 12:38 a.m. on his birthday, Apri1 12, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Center in Indianapolis.

He was born on Thursday, April 12, 1923 in Owen County to the late Wave and Leafy Florence (Hensley) Beaman.

Jim married Judith K. "Judy" (Hastings) Beaman on August 9, 1977 and she passed away on August 11, 2006.

Jim was a 1941 graduate of Quincy High School in Quincy, Indiana. He served his county in the United States Army during WWII. He worked at REMC and later retired in 1985 from Eli Lilly & Company in Indianapolis as an electrician. After retirement he worked and was currently working at the MSD of Martinsville.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #230 and enjoyed IU Basketball, "March Madness" and NASCAR.

Jim is survived by sons, James L. Beaman of Martinsville and Kenton Hart of Gosport; daughters, Carma Hart of Martinsville, Lisa McIntosh of New Whiteland and Sandie Coffman of Knoxville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 5:00 p.m.

After the memorial service there will be a military flag presentation.
