"Jacob B[sic] Carvell, near Hopeland, died Tuesday at 9 p.m. from a heart ailment, in the Lancaster General Hospital, aged 58 years.
There survive these children: Earl, and George of near Hopeland and Mervin with the Army at March Field, Calif.; five grandchildren and these brothers and sisters; William, Hopeland; Leroy, Lancaster; Ella, wife of George Meck, Lexington; Lillie and Minnie, wife of Henry Steely, Lititz.
Funeral will be held Saturday at 1:30 at the Mellinger funeral home Denver and at 2 o'clock in Hopeland U. B. Church followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Mellinger home on Friday between 7 and 9 p.m."
