This brief, one sentence, note added per SAC of 3 Aug 2015: Jim and his brother Vic were once in jail at Yukon, Oklahoma for the murder of Deputy Sheriff Sam Farris.
Added 9 Aug 2017: 'Deputy Farris recognized the outlaw brothers James and Victor Casey in front of the Walker Saloon in Yukon on Monday, May 21, 1894. The Casey brothers were wanted for the murder of the two Townsend brothers in El Reno earlier in the month. As the deputy started to arrest them the Casey brothers opened fire on him, killing him but not before Farris wounded "Vic" in the foot. Vic died of blood poisoning from the foot wound on Novemeber 12th. Jim Casey was killed June 30, 1895, during a jailbreak from the Oklahoma County Jail in Oklahoma City.'
