Mose (some accounts give his first name as "Mote") Roberts was a participant in the Pleasant Valley War, a range war in Arizona Territory between the Graham and Tewksbury factions. Roberts was shot and wounded on September 4, 1887 by Sheriff Commodore Perry Owens during a gunfight in which Andy Blevins and his brother Sam Blevins were killed. Roberts died of his wounds 11 days after the fight and was buried beside the two Blevins brothers.
