A native of Clermont, France, Father Joseph Coderc, also known as Amabilis, moved to Jerusalem and was ordained to the priesthood there at Calvary on September 20, 1865. curate of Jifna and later of Birzeit, he subsequently served as procurator of Jerusalem and secretary of the Latin Patriarchate. Canon of the Holy Sepulchre Basilica, he passed away at the Patriarchate aged 67.
