A native of Celles-sur-Durolle, Monsignor Jean-Pierre-Georges Dozolme was appointed Coadjutor to the Diocese of Le Puy-en-Velay in 1960, receiving his episcopal consecration with the Titular See of Arcadia. He succeeded as the 103th Ordinary of the Diocese on October 12 of that same year, serving until his resignation on March 2, 1978.
