Ministering in Spanish-speaking parishes as pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows and Our Lady Queen of Angels in Manhattan, he went on to serve as a missionary to Honduras, Central America; and assistant at Our Lady of Montserrat in Stamford, Connecticut. He also served as assistant and later rector of St. Francis chapel, Springfield, Massachusetts; provincial director of the Secular Franciscan fraternities and guardian of St. Lawrence Friary in Abington, Massachusetts.
Starting to study Portuguese at the age of 70, he ministered with the Cape Verdean community in the Archdiocese of Boston, residing at St. Benedict the Moor Friary in Roxbury. In 2009, he joined the senior friar community of St. Clare in Yonkers, New York and later began his residency at Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry, where he eventually passed away.
