He was born in Bavaria and was a true scholar. After ordination he was assigned to teach liturgy and philosophy and then he was made director of clerics. Another Chapter assigned him to teach moral theology. Appointed Guardian at St. Bonaventure's in Detroit, Michigan, he put in many improvements and was responsible for replacing the wooden fence with the brick wall. He retired at Huntington, Indiana, and was confessor to the novices. He continued to read St. Thomas Aquinas, but also found delight in outdoor work. He was remembered for the total giving of his many gifts to the community.
