Sherbrooke born Simon Côté was ordained priest through the Missionaries of Africa on June 7, 1941 in Eastview, and for years, served in Tanzania, as vicar in Bukoba, Ngote, Rubya, Itahwa, Kashozi, Nshamba, Kagondo and Rukindo. Returning back to his native country in 1985, he died at the venerable age of 102 at the Hôpital Hôtel-Dieu of Sherbrooke on July 10, 2015.
