On January 12, 1917 he was named Apostolic Administrator of Ticino, receiving his episcopal consecration on the following January 21 in Rome with the Titular See of Daulia.
He died on June 27, 1935 in Lugano aged 61 and was interred inside the crypt of the Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Lugano.
During his episcopate, Msgr. Bacciarini reorganized the Catholic Action, religious schools, instituted the presence of a Crucifix inside all public areas within his See, and initiated several diocesan establishments, overseeing among others the introduction of the "Giornale del Popolo" as of 1926.
