Richard William "Dick" Bell was born August 19, 1923 and departed this life Tuesday, July 27, 2010 reaching the age of 86. He was the son of the late W. W. "Bill" and Dora Criswell Bell.

He is survived by: 3 children, Tamara Bell Wray, Paul Walker, and Diana Walker; 9 grandchildren, Brianna Belle Wray, Samantha Bell, William Bell, Andrew Dolen, Matthew Dolen, Laura Hail, Misty Thornhill, Matthew Loveless, and Chris Loveless; 4 great grandchildren, Kaleigh Hail, Stephen Loveless, Kristen Loveless, and Emily Loveless; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Bill and Dora Bell, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Frances Lee Bertram Bell; 1 son, Billy Joe Bell; 1 brother, Lee Bell; and 2 sisters, Frances Hawkins and Lena Smith.

He was a loving father, grandfather, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 30, 2010 from 5 – 9 pm and Saturday, July 31 from 7 – 10:30 am in the chapel of the funeral home and then Saturday from 11 am – 1 pm at New Charity church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 1 pm at the New Charity Church with Bro. Koger Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: New Charity Church or Disabled American Veterans

Full military honors will be performed by our local DAV.
