"Death of Mrs. Henry Knapp, Powellsville
It was with sorrow and regret that the many friends and relatives of Mrs. Henry Knapp heard of her sad death last Monday. She took suddenly sick on the 16th of October, of which the TIMES spoke at the time, with the quinsy, but before she had rallied from this she was attacked with heart and stomach troubles, from which she died last Monday morning at 3 o'clock.
She was born in Germany, April 28, 1848, and came with her parents to this country at the age of 5 years.
She was united in marriage to Henry Knapp in 1867. They were blessed with ten children and three grandchildren, all of whom are living except one grandchild. She had two sisters and three brothers, of whom only one brother, Mr. Jacob Hobstetter, of Portsmouth, survives.
The funeral took place last Tuesday from the German Lutheran church at Powellsville, of which church she was a faithful member. The bereaved husband family and relatives have the sincerest sympathy of all in their sad bereavement."
