Glenn Oliver Rutland, 67, of 251 Flynns Point Road died, Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca. Born in Conway, SC, he was a son of Frances Smith Rutland and Leroy Rutland. Glenn was a employee of Clemson University and was an avid Clemson sports fan. He was veteran of the US Air Force and was a longtime member of VFW and American Legion. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Clemson. Surviving is a brother, Frank T. Rutland of Mauldin; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his caregiver, Kathy Ross; and a special cousin, Suzanne DurRant. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Michael E. Rutland. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Old Stone Church Cemetery in Clemson with Dr. Rusty Brock officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Clemson, 397 College Ave., Clemson, SC 29631 or to the American Cancer Society.
