Alice was born in 1874 to George S. Chase and Carrie Carlburg (Mass Vital Records 1874--New Bedford). Alice had at least one older sibling, a sister, Lucy M., who married Elwyn Anthony and lived in Portsmouth, RI. George S. died in 1877 from a heart ailment (Mass. Vital Records). I do not know what happened to Alice's mother, Carrie. Alice then moved to Yarmouth Mass. (Cape Cod) to live with her grandparents Rev. Enoch E Chase and Rebecca B. Chase. However, as her grandparents became more elderly, Alice was raised by her aunt Rebecca B. Chase II and Uncle Captain Henry B. Chase in Yarmouth (Yes, Rebecca's maiden name happened to be Chase).

Alice proceeded to graduate from Barnstable High School (1892) and was ranked very high in her class. After graduation, she took the entrance exam to Boston University. I can not find evidence that she ever attended. She probably did not, because Alice then married my great grandfather, James Myron Bradford in 1894, and they started a family shortly thereafter. Her uncle Henry B. Chase must have been important to her, since she named her second son (my grandfather) Henry Chase Bradford, which started a trend of 4 generations of Henry Chase Bradford's. My son the 4th is 20 years old and attends College. There have Henry Chase Bradford's for the last 113 years.

After 2 attempts, I cannot find Alice's grave, (husband James M. Bradford or any of the other Chase family. All records show they were buried there...HELP!!!
