Born Oct. 23, 1939, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Albert and Hazel (Best) Cupp. He married the former Sandra McCollum on Dec. 23, 1961, and they have celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Ray retired from Strohmann's Bakery, Williamsport. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Turbotville and enjoyed roller skating, woodworking, baseball, wrestling, youth sports and was a big John Wayne fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are sons, Scott M. (Aranda) Cupp of Watsontown and Rick R. (Melissa) Cupp of Turbotville; daughters, Merlene G. (Barry) Cox and Crystal L. (Jeff) Head all of Turbotville; sisters, Loretta (Max) Hugar of Montgomery and Mary Hess of Williamsport; grandchildren; Alisha Welch, Danielle Confer, Summer Cupp, Dillon Cupp, Wesley Cupp, Clarence Cupp, Scotty Cupp, Daytona Cupp and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were brothers, Lee, Alvin, James and Harry Cupp and a sister, Martha Carole.
Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, were a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with his pastor, Rev. Erwin C. Roux, officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family suggest contributions in Ray's name be made to American Cancer Society, Central Susquehanna Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
