Donald W. Simon, 69, a resident of Pennsdale, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, in the Gatehouse at Williamsport.

Born in Delaware Township, Northumberland County, Pa., on Sunday, March 1, 1942, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Dorothy (Grey) Simon.

He was the husband of Patsey A. (Adams) Simon, with whom he celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary on June 25, 2010.

Don attended Warrior Run High School and the former Williamsport Technical School. He was employed by Motor Truck, Eck's Garage, Sheet's Garage, Ye Olde Cycle Barn, Silver Moon Furniture and Wentzler's Fruit Farm. Don had also worked at Kessler's Orchards.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and also enjoyed spending time at the Northeast Trade Co. at Muncy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Dannie W. and Mystine Simon, Montoursville, Pa., Sherrie L. Simon-Corley and Dave Jones, Unityville, Pa.; one brother and sister-in-law, Jeremiah and Gloria Simon, New Columbia, Pa.; three grandchildren, Daniel K. Simon, Shelby Simon, Emily Simon; two step-grandchildren, Amanda Corley and Tessa Jones. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and Roy Simon and one sister, Edna Derr.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy, Pa., at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2011, with Reverend James R. Pentz, pastor of the New Covenant Assembly at Montgomery, officiating. Interment will be in the Elimsport Cemetery, Washington Township, Lycoming County, Pa.
