Born in Tragos Beira Alta, Portugal, January 3, 1907, a daughter of the late Joao De Almeida and Maria Da Conceicao. She immigrated to the United States in 1914 and settled in New York City. She moved to Wallingford Connecticut with her husband where she resided for over 70 years. She was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church.
She worked at the H. Freeman & Sons dress factory for many years. A loving mother and devoted grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, her family was the joy of her life.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Dolores; her son and Anthony Dias; her sister Irene Pereira; her brother Omaro Silva; her grandchildren; her great grandchildren; her two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is pre deceased by her brothers Adriano Almeida and Antonio de Almeida and her sisters Virginia Almeida Urbano, Lena Almeida Thibodeau, Maria Todeschini, and Laura Almeida Cruz.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, on Wednesday, April 21. Funeral services will be held on Thursday from the funeral home when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
