Actor. Born Daniel Wrzesien, he is best remembered for his roles as Dr. Beeper from the 1980 motion picture "Caddyshack," and as the nautical clad spokesman for the Ty-D-Bol toilet bowl commercials of the 1970s. He attended Indiana University and Columbia University beginning in the early 1950s, where he studied music and theater production. Following graduation from Indiana University, he served briefly in the U.S. military before appearing in a number of off-Broadway and Broadway productions including "Don't Drink the Water," "Fade Out, Fade In," "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever," "Once Upon a Mattress," "The Young Abe Lincoln" and "My Fair Lady." He made his motion picture debut in the 1972 motion picture "Deadhead Miles" followed by "Richard" also in the same year. His other motion picture credits include: "Hail" (1973), "Crazy Joe" (1974), "The Happy Hooker" (1975), "The Sunshine Boys" (1975), "God Told Me To" (1976), "The Private Files of J. Edgar Hoover" (1977), "The Man With One Red Shoe" (1985) and "Wise Guys" in 1986. In addition to his motion picture work, he also appeared briefly on the television sitcom "On Our Own" from 1977 to 1978, and did commercial work for the New York State Lottery and Bird's Eye Frozen Vegetables. He died at a local area hospital from complications of Parkinson's disease at the age of 79.
