I know from a deed located in the Morris County Courthouse that this Rachel Ader Applegate was the daughter of Jacob Ader and Phebe Howell of Morris County, New Jersey.
If you look at the death certificate it doesn't list her actual parents. I believe the informant who is listed as L. Applegate was either her son Lambert or Lewis Applegate. When he was asked the questions of father he answer Thomas which is the name of his father and not his mothers. Then he was asked name of mother and he gave his mothers first name instead of his mothers mothers name. It is common for people to make mistakes on death certificates. A land deed located in the Morris County Courthouse names Rachel Ader and her husband by name and their location of residence. Therefore I feel the proof is clear that her parents were Jacob Ader and Phebe Howell of Morris County, New Jersey.
