She attended Draughon's Business School and worked for Douglas Aircraft Company, during World War II. After the war, she worked at Standolind Oil Company, and married William Andrew Dodd, in 1946. Wanda spent most of her career as an executive secretary for Amerada and Amerada-Hess Oil companies. Before her marriage, she was a member of Tulsa's First Baptist Church. She and Bill joined Carbondale Community Church (later Carbondale Bible Church), and were faithful members there until the church moved to southeast Tulsa. Wanda had been a member of Brookside Baptist Church since 1993, where she was an active member in virtually all church activities. Wanda and Bill had 1 son, S. Douglas Dodd of Tulsa. Wanda suffered from numerous illneses and health problems from the time she was 12 years old, but never complained or displayed any desire for sympathy or special treatment. She always had a smile and words of encouragement for everyone she encountered. Her faith in God outlined and directed her life, and gave her supreme confidence in eternal life. Wanda will be sorely missed by those she leaves behind. We have a heavy burden to keep alive the boundless faith and the wonderful attributes by which we all knew her.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, at the Brookside Baptist Church, preceded by private graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends may contribute to the American Diabetes Association or the Brookside Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Service is under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Service, 446-6633. (Tulsa World)
