Son of Dougald Carmichael, husband of Agnes Campbell.

"Dougald Carmichael came from Scotland, and settled in Marion County, on the north side of the Little Pee Dee; don't know to whom he married, but he had sons, Major Daniel, Squire Neill, Michael, Malcolm and Archie. Daniel married Agnes Campbell, had one son, John C., and five daughters."
