Found Dead in Bed

Mr. J. Cale Britt of Orrum Section Passed Away Last Night - Funeral This Afternoon

Mr. J. Cale Britt, aged about 65 years, was found dead in his room at the home of Mr. J. G. Stephens on R1 from Orrum, with whom he lived, this morning. Mr. Britt was in his usual health when he retired last night. When Mr. Stephens called him this morning, he failed to answer the call and upon entering the room, it was found that he had died some time during the night. It is supposed his death was due to natural causes. The funeral will be conducted this afternoon by Rev. Paul T. Britt, pastor of Mt. Elim Baptist church, of which deceased had been a member of for many years. Internment will be made in the Ward cemetery, near the church.
Deceased spent Saturday night in Lumberton and returned home yesterday.

Gravesite Details

I have searched Ward Cemetery over a few times. It appears his grave is either marked by a field stone, his headstone has broken, or it is unmarked.
