Civil War Veteran Dies

Gregory C. McDermott, a veteran of the civil war died at Barnsdall, Ok. July 9th, aged 77 years one month and eight days.
Mr. McDermott was born June 1st, 1845. He was a sergeant in Company T. 23rd Regiment, Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, serving two enlistments, being discharged Dec. 27th, 1865, having served four years and two months. He has been an invalid for some time, having been confined to his bed for the past two years. He leaves to mourn his loss, two daughters. Mrs. Belle DeWeese and Mrs. Nettie Smith, besides a number of grandchildren.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the M. F. church, Rev. M.W. Sampson delivering the sermon. Interment at the Ethel Reese Cemetery.
