Loren Manuel Nuzman was the son of Eddie W. and Alta M. Nuzman; born near Soldier on Dec. 28, 1901. He grew up in northwest Jackson County and graduated in 1920 from Soldier High School. He graduated from the Kansas State Agricultural College at Manhattan in 1927. In 1945 he received a master's degree in Industrial Art Education from Colorado A&M College at Fort Collins.
Loren was a teacher, coach, carpenter and part-time farmer. He begin teaching in 1924 at Larkinburg and continued teaching throughout his career, retiring in 1967.
Mr. Nuzman was a member of First United Methodist Church Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge, and Topeka Area Retired Teachers Association, all in Topeka.
He was married to Lillian Loraine Bowler August 2, 1928, in Kansas City, Kansas. They were blessed with two sons Carl and John. She died April 10, 1956. He was married to Lillian M. Sheridan Maddern on July 25, 1958 in the First United Methodist Church in Topeka.
Interment was in the Holton Cemetery, Holton, Jackson Co., Kansas.
