Jennie Valentine Werner was born to Joseph
Valentine and Delphine A. Werner,September
28,1885 at Leavenworth, Kansas and departed
this life at the home of her youngest daughter,
Mrs. Frank Crawford, in Oakland, Oregon,
March 6, 1966.

When she was 3 years old she came with her
parents to live on a Nemaha county farm.
Later, the family moved to Mountain Grove,
Missouri, Blackburn, Oklahoma, Kansas City,
Missouri and Corning, Kansas. In 1905, she
went to Soldier, Kansas for employment.
There she met Arthur H. Nuzman and they
were married at Holton, Kansas on April 10,
1907. To this union was born two daughters,
Edna Delphine and Loraine Pearle.

In 1924, the family moved to Frankfort,
Kansas to make a permant home. For many
years Mr. and Mrs. Nuzman operated a home
for sick and aging. They cared for these
folks with kind and sincere concern. On
March 14, 1952, Mr. Nuzman, passed away
after a lingering illness leaving his wife who
carried on with the rest home until 1954,
when her ill health demanded she retire. On
July 6, 1959, she was taken seriously ill and
was hospitalized many times. She was a
patient sufferer and never once lost faith in
her heavenly father's judgment where she
was concerned.

On October 9, 1965, she flew to Oakland,
Oregon for a visit with her youngest daughter
and family. How she enjoyed being with
them in the beautiful scenic mountains and
seashore. On November 15, 1965 their home
was destroyed by fire and she arose to the
occasion by seeing this tragedy in its true
light. On March 6, 1966 after the Oregon
home was rebuilt the family moved in and
that night she slipped away as though she
were content to leave this earthly home
knowing all was well with her girls.

She joined the Baptist Church at the age of
thirteen and later transferred her membership
to Frankfort Methodist Church where she
was always a loyal and devoted Christian.
She was an Eastern Star member since 1918
and belonged to the Palace Chapter No. 174
at Frankfort, Kansas.
