The only child of Oliver and Gladys Ross Anders, Sr., "June" (Junior) was born November 10, 1943, in the Flatwood community of Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Before leaving Greer, SC, he was employed at Wood Mortuary from 1964-74. He moved to Alexandria, Virginia, where after 26 years 'Andy' retired from the United States Capitol Police, Washington, DC, in 2000. Going back to his roots he worked part-time for Demaine Funeral Home, of Old Town Alexandria, VA before moving to Ft. Myers, Florida in 2002 where he worked for Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens. "Andy" was preceded in death by Judith (Zatman), of Pittsburgh, PA, his wife for six years. He was a member of the 32nd Degree Masonic Order, a Shriner and a Son of the Confederate Veterans. "Andy" is survived by Ms. Kim Barry-Anders, a life-long friend, two nieces, Jean Gates and Norma Ward, and countless friends who will miss him very much.
