Jessie Chase was the daughter of George Francis Chase and Mary Ann Burr. After her father served in the Kansas Cavalry during the Civil War and returned to Kansas, he married Mary Ann Burr. In Kanas, they had 12 children (including Jessie. The 13th (and last) child, Chester Harmon Chase, was born in Oroville, California in 1890. Jessie was the family historian and documented much of her family history. She was a member of the DAR. Jessie married twice, first to a Mr. Scott; the second marriage to Mr. Denny.
