Florence E. Backman was born to Charles A. and Frances E. Gunther Backman at Soldier, Kansas on August 9, 1898.
At the age of six she moved with her parents to Holton, Ks. where she entered kindergarten school under Elizabeth Warning. She went through Holton High School and was graduated under Professor Mack in 1916. She entered Strickler Business College in Topeka.
She was employed as a Civil Service employee in Washington D.C. for a short time and returned to Holton because of illness.
She married Everett Bohannon at her parents home near Soldier, Kansas on February 27, 1921. She was married 26 years living near Holton, Kansas.
Everett and Florence had two boys, Robert A and John E Bohannon.
She was a life-long member of the church, having been born unto and reared in the Methodist church, and having actively served in the Christian church.
She had a cheerful disposition and was a favorite with children, having taken part in their parties, plays and music throughout her life. She had an undying love for the community in which she spent the greater portion of her life.
