Funeral service for Imogene K. Browning will be 2 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 20, at Blue Starr Church of Christ with Minister Mike Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m.

Imogene died Tues., Dec. 18, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 90.

The daughter of Woody D. and Winnie V. (Dobson) Kendrick was born April 6, 1922, in Atoka County at Wilson, OK. Imogene attended Coleman High School where she was an outstanding basketball player. She graduated in 1940, and on May 10th of that same year married Edward Winford Browning in Durant. Edward worked for the railroad and they moved all over the United States every 2-3 months for sixteen years. They settled in Rawlins, WY, El Reno, OK and later Amarillo,TX. Imogene worked as a telephone operator in Rawlins, WY, a beautician with her own shop and as church secretary in Amarillo, TX as well as being a full time wife and mother. Upon Edward's retirement in 1983, they made their home in Claremore. Imogene was a member of Blue Starr Church of Christ. She was a big OU Sooners sports fan, and recently became an OKC Thunder fan.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers, a daughter-in-law Andrea and her husband, Edward in 2007.

She is survived by her children: Gary Browning of Bartlesville, Glenn Browning and wife, Anna of Kirksville, MO, and Pamela Bell and husband, Nathan of Broken Arrow; daughter-in-law, Charmaine Browning of Franklin, TN; sister, Ann Copeland of McAlester, OK; grandchildren: Sheridyn Breedlove and husband, David, Shantyl Cooke and husband, Phillip, Zane Browning and wife, Jessica, Alisha Linder and husband, Gary, Janelle Browning, Clint Browning and wife, Amanda, Benjamin Browning, Cash Browning, Toni Browning, Gina Hurley and husband, Richard, Lathan Findling, Jennifer Escobar and husband, Misa, Heather Askew and husband, Ryan, and Matthew Bell and wife, Lori; 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
